These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Daily Science iOS application (the “App”). The App is operated by Yusuf A. Kaya (“Daily Science”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. The App and its purpose

Daily Science is an editorial learning app that presents curated stories from the history of science and related fields. The App includes a daily discovery, a browsable archive, collections, audio narration, widgets, and other features that may change over time. It is provided for general educational and informational purposes only.

Although we aim to research and present sources carefully, historical and scientific information can be incomplete, contested, revised, or subject to interpretation. The App is not medical, legal, financial, engineering, safety, or other professional advice, and it must not be used as the sole basis for a decision where accuracy is critical.

2. Eligibility and technical requirements

You must use the App in compliance with applicable law and with the rules of the App Store through which you obtained it. Use requires a compatible Apple device and operating system. Some features require an internet connection, and your network provider may charge for data use. We may release updates that are necessary for security, compatibility, or continued operation of the App.

3. License and permitted use

Subject to these Terms and the App Store rules, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the App for your own lawful, non-commercial use. This license does not transfer ownership of the App, its design, its editorial compilation, or its content.

You must not copy, reproduce, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, bulk-download, redistribute, sell, lease, or exploit the App or its content except where applicable law expressly permits it or where we have given prior written permission. You must not interfere with the App, its security, its content-delivery services, advertising, or other users’ use of the App.

4. Content, sources, and intellectual property

Daily Science’s editorial text, organization, app design, trademarks, and original visual materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Certain images, quotations, source materials, and historical works may be used under public-domain, open-access, licensed, or other applicable rights. Relevant attributions and acknowledgements are provided in the App where appropriate. No right to reuse third-party material is granted by these Terms.

5. Free tier and advertising

The App may provide a free tier supported in part by banner advertising. Free-tier users may see advertising in designated areas of the App. Premium access removes advertising while the applicable Premium entitlement is active. Advertising and related data practices are described in the Privacy Policy.

6. Premium subscriptions and lifetime access

Daily Science may offer monthly or annual auto-renewable Premium subscriptions and, where available, a one-time lifetime purchase. Product availability, features, prices, currencies, billing periods, introductory offers, and taxes are shown in the App Store purchase sheet and in the App before you confirm a purchase. The App Store is the merchant of record for purchases made through Apple.

If you begin a free trial, the applicable subscription automatically renews at the price and interval shown before purchase unless you cancel before the trial or then-current billing period ends. Subscription charges are billed to your Apple ID. You can manage or cancel auto-renewal through your Apple ID subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the then-current paid period; access is not generally refunded or prorated by Daily Science.

Apple determines and administers billing, payment methods, refunds, and some subscription changes under its own terms and policies. We do not process your payment details and cannot issue App Store refunds directly. If you previously purchased Premium, use the App’s “Restore Purchases” feature or your Apple ID to restore eligible access.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep the App available and useful, but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of every feature, item, image, narration, or content update. We may add, modify, suspend, or remove features or content to maintain the App, improve security, comply with law, respect rights holders, or evolve the service. We will not use a change to remove access that applicable consumer law requires us to preserve.

8. Feedback and support

If you find an error, rights concern, accessibility issue, or technical problem, contact us at info@dailyscience.app. Feedback is voluntary. You retain rights in feedback you provide, but you allow us to use it without restriction or compensation to operate, improve, and support the App, unless we agree otherwise in writing.

9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, secure, or available at every time or location, or that all editorial content will be complete or current.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including rights that mandatory consumer-protection law gives you. Subject to that limitation, Daily Science is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App.

10. Privacy

Our handling of information is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the App, its business model, applicable law, or service providers. The revised Terms take effect when published, unless applicable law requires advance notice or a different effective date. If a change is material and your consent is required by law, we will provide the required notice or choice.
